Visit the NM Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum

We may be Boomers, but we are never too old to learn something new! This event will be an all day event, so be ready to have some fun and to learn about NM Farm and Ranching on November 3, 2012. Meeting place will be inside the lobby at 9 am (sharp) :-). Cost for the museum is $5.00. Seniors over 60 years of age are $3.00.

If any of you are interested in breakfast, we will be meeting at 7:30 am at the Flying J Travel Center (Denny's) at I-10 West and Anthony exit. We can proceed from there to the Museum.

At 9 am at the museum we will take a cart ride to the South 20, which will show us the perimeters of the Ranch, where we will get to see sites that we can't view from inside the museum. This takes about 30 minutes.

After the cart ride we will go back to the museum. The self guided tour of the museum runs approximately an hour or longer. There we will also get to see some demonstrations such as milking the cows, fiber arts, blacksmithing, livestock tours and possibly some heritage cooking.

After this tour of the museum we can take a break for lunch. There is a snack bar there that offers drinks and snacks. We can also bring a brown bag lunch. Please email me your thoughts on lunch if you sign up for this venue.

There is a Basic Dowsing Class - 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm. Learn the basics of dowsing (questing, divining, water witching), how to use the four basic dowsing tools and the benefits associated with dowsing. The cost is $15 and dowsing tools will be available. The cost for Museum Friends members is $12. Register early by calling (575) 522-4100. I have already reserved a place in the classroom for Donna, Larry, Dave, Mike and myself. Don't forget to register early to reserve a seat for yourself, space is limited. Phone number is[masked]-4100.

After the class at 3:30 pm, if you are interested in hanging out a while longer and having dinner, we will eat at La Posta located on the Plaza at Old Mesilla.

When I said "ask me anything," I meant ask me anything if you lost something and are looking for it, or the gender of your unborn child, etc. Dowsing isn't for fortune telling, only our good Lord what is in store for us.

I had a great time, it was a good day. The museum was awesome, I enjoyed the farming portion of it the most. We saw blacksmithing and attended the dowsing class. Ask me anything! Dinner at La Posta was delicious!

Is the dowsing class part of the tour or an extra? Wasn't sure if the $15 was for the class or the whole thing.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
