Many of us baby boomers have managed to gain a measure of true independence at this phase of our lives. We are therefore no longer tethered to a corporate job as such. Instead, we get to focus on reinventing ourselves by pursuing interests, hobbies and even dreams we did not quite have time for when we were part of the daily-commute crowd. For me, this means developing for the Kinect platform (and, in the process, falling in love with C# despite my earlier prejudices!), designing an animation platform to teach math to my young nephews, figuring out how to tackle building a high-torque servo motor (for robotics), plus various smaller projects that happen to capture my fancy at a given time. All these projects more or less proceed in parallel, though they take their turn as foreground and background threads. If this sounds somewhat akin to your circumstances as well, let's together to share stories, knowledge, and perhaps join forces on some projects.
