Join our friend Madeline Triffon, MS of Plum Market in a super fun blind tasting exercise that was designed specifically for the Bacchus Club. We’ll happily wrestle between pairs of varietals whose attributes often confuse Master Sommelier candidates. All wines will be blind-tasted, with plenty of helpful hints, and will be revealed at the end of the tasting. We’ll show stellar examples of type; quality and price/value is best assessed “blind”. And, prizes will be awarded to the most intrepid guessers! After all, one look at the label is worth $1000.
Here are some tasting duos you may encounter: Cabernet or Malbec? Merlot or Cabernet Franc? Sangiovese or Nebbiolo? Pinot Noir or Gamay? Syrah or Grenache? Or a blend??
This light-hearted walk-around tasting will take place 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the Plum Market on Orchard Lake and 15 Mile Rd, 6565 Orchard Lake Road, West Bloomfield, MI 48322. Plentiful hors d’oeuvres will be served, including artisan cheese and charcuterie. Don’t miss this entertaining and educational tasting experience!
The cost per person is $41.50. Advance payment is required because the club must reach a minimum attendance of 20 guests. Pay via PayPal online or in person at an upcoming event.
