Nebbiolo (Barbaresco) Wine Tasting at Plum Market Sold Out

With Special Guest Speaker Aldo Vacca, Managing Director of Produttori del Barbaresco

Barbaresco is an Italian wine made with the Nebbiolo grape. Barbaresco is produced in the Piedmont region.  Great Barbaresco is the most refined expression of the majestic Nebbiolo grape, matching power with finesse, and haunting scents of earth and flowers. You will taste eight single vineyard bottlings that are made only in great years. From the 2008 and 2009 vintages we will present Asili, Montefico, Montestefano, Ovello, Pajé, Pora, Rabajà, and Rio Sordo. Every one of these beautiful wines has been rated over 92 points by the Wine Advocate, Vinous (Antonio Galloni) or the Wine Spectator.  Lovers of ageworthy, complex Old World reds – don’t miss this very special tasting!   $40 plus tax.  This event will probably sell out so if you plan to attend, please buy your ticket at plummarket.com right away.

I loved this tasting! It was so great to see the passion and interest that goes into each of the wines presented and the clear pride in the wine that we saw and enjoyed. Very informative and unique event!

This was the best tasting I have ever attended! The information given about the region and wines by the guest speaker was educational but not overwhelming. I have a better understanding of the Barbaresco region and enjoyed tasting wines made with the same grape but from different vineyards. It was surprising that you could taste differences just because one vineyard may have been closer to the river or up on a hill.
