We've lined up a real treat for everyone this month! Be sure to sign up, you won't want to miss it. Rufus Denne and Harry Wincup from serverdensity.com will be here to provide insights on performance in a high volume environment

Jamil Kheir will outline some simple patterns for managing your view hierarchy in Backbone.

Finally, our very own William "Billy" Estoque will offer up a Backbone / Ember comparison showdown. He'll take one thing from Ember and discuss how it's done in Ember, and vice versa.

----

Hang out for a bit afterwards and break out into discussions.

Outright has once again offered up their exceptional venue. Expect a nice room, projectors, sound system, pizza, beer, snacks, and refreshments. Thanks Neal Rosenblum, Ben Curren and the rest of the crew at Outright!

    Hi guys,

For those of you who asked, my slides are available here: https://github.com/elbii/cerebellum.

I named the repo (and reserved in bower) with the hopes these patterns will form a micro library in the near future.

Thanks everyone for their questions and feedback. Highly appreciated!

@jamil, mike: preserving the original description here for posterity
    ----
Backbone does a lot to help structure your Javascript view rendering, but seems to fall short of providing a complete convention for managing nested and layout views. The view heirarchy can be thought of as a simple Unordered Tree, where all parent nodes represent "layout" views and all child nodes represent renderable, traditional views. I propose that this sort of system isn't too hard to implement with a set of simple conventions in Backbone, and can really help simplify your single-page-app architecture.

Such an approach would omit including monolithic dependencies like Marionette while still providing the benefits of a simple, organized view management scheme.

    Hey Jamil, thanks for suggesting!

We're actually looking to do a meetup next week, sometime between Jun 9-14 as we have another guest speaker from out of town in the area during that time who would also like to talk about advanced Backbone topics. But we still need a venue. Do they do meetups at Cisco ;) ?

Awesome, I'll field some discussion then! Next Wednesday is good.

As for Cisco, I'll have to do some research on that. I can't remember ever seeing a Meetup occur at Cisco but I may be able to jump through some hoops.

I've put down Wednesday as a day to shoot for. Would that work for you?

I have developed some thoughts on this and would like to share and get feedback. Anyone interested?
