This is a newer waterfall outing.  I only did it twice last year. Few know of it but for some locals.  It's easy except for the mossy huge boulders to climb down to the top of the Falls.  Follow me carefully & you will make it unscathed.  Cameras ; YES !!!!

Now I hope we get some decent rains before the date.  ***The falls are Spectacular when the feeder creeks are flowing.  They are wide & high. There will be some creeks to cross & some cool mossy cliffs to view and/or climb(optional) .

Wear good hiking shoes & bring a lunch.  Dress in layers.   If it's misty or light rain ; I'll have ponchos for all.   **Don't wimp out if there is a little rain.

After our wine /lunch on top of the falls we will climb up stream for great photo opps & head back on a different trail.

Optional wine tasting follows at two different nearby wineries.  I'll have special passes for free tastings or very low cost.

cost: 25 bucks.  Also includes wine at/lunch, hiking poles, snacks, water, juice, tea, coffee latte(cold), energy & protein drinks, soda, trail bars, Gourmet fruit & nut packs, car pooling, shuttles, & lot's of fun.

Meet location:  Take hwy 29 North thru St. Helena & past the CIA. (Culinary Institute) . keep going for a couple of miles & Watch for Deer park Rd on your right.  Turn right (East) & go to the blinking stoplight. Park along the road on the South East corner.  It's in front of a fruit stand.

OR:  take hwy 29 N. (freeway) going out of Napa & turn right on Oak Knoll Rd. to Silverado trail & turn left (North) it's  (faster & no stops)   Take it all the way to Deerpark rd. (Blinking red light) Turn left and park along the rd.

Ok; now pray for lot's of rain.  NOTE:  This area is very close to the Wine castle in Calistoga.

I haven't hiked for 2 weeks and my legs are getting wobbly.

************OH by the way:  The next Hawaii trips start on March 24th.   Only six spots available. Awesome adventure trips !!!   Really.   All inclusive;just get air fare.

So watch for the Dec photos asap.

A hui ho.

Other than my car problems just before, the day was great. The falls were still flowing even in this drought. I knew the climbing would get their attention real quick.
I'll post Peter's website & his photo retrieval site asap. (He was the one legged man) .The wine tasting at Markham was enjoyed by all who attended. I hope to do this one again in late Feb. Pray for rain.

NOTE: This area is far for most to get to & with the wine lunch, climbing, car shuttle to hike location(limited parking at site) & optional winery visits(close by) & no daylight saving time; We will be lucky to get it all in?

It's very short. Only about 3 miles. But some climbing will make it seem longer.
The next 2 on the schedule are also very cool. They are both very different & are 6-8 miles each.

How FAR is the hike? You do not mention that little detail in your summary (which is very nice by the way!)

Thanks. We are going to try and make it.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
