It's been a long time since doing this great outing. The recent heavy rain hopefully will bring the creeks & waterfalls to life.
This is a moderate to slightly strenuous 7-8 mile trek. Elevation to about 1200 ft. It can go to 1750 ft. (For really super views)
So much variety to experience. Creek crossings, super Napa valley & Napa river, San Pablo Bay scenic views, a hidden lake, lots of wildlife, late 19th century rock wall structures & other old sites, high hidden caves & mossy rock outcroppings, deep ravine & ledge walking along lush fern lined creeks & under tall overhead rock formations . & the final trek thru the waterfall area will bring your senses into sharp focus.
Are you sure you want to do this one ? It could be boring ???? But I doubt it.
We will have a wine(included) picnic lunch on a trail somewhere. Maybe overlooking a sparkling lake ?
Also included: water, juice, tea, coffee, soda, snacks, trail bars, energy & protein drinks, gourmet fruit & nut packs, hiking poles, parking lot fees, & more; I just can't remember it?
Bring good hiking shoes, camera, layered clothing, & meet super fun people if this is your first time.
Our always fun dinner option follows the hike & is only about 10 minutes away. I'll also have wine tasting passes available for hiker winos at dinner & if we go to Compadres on the Napa river; I'll have 1 buck House Margaritas for all.
NOTE: Meet 1 mile east on Imola ave .from hwy 221 (Soscal) & park on the right in the Napa County Education office lot. Facing the road(North) . If you see a big open camping or field area on your right; you have passed the lot. Go back.
**No shows will be subject to Karmic retribution.
Backroads has no "Ho Hum" events.
See you there !!
