The concept was great. The ahtiest were well prepaired, but the christians seem to have prepaied for a different debate topic. Maybe next time have the opening statements and questions looked at before the debate to make sure they are on topic.

Thought that each side got riled up a bit! It was quite entertaining!

There were good & bad points, but overall I'm glad the event was held. Speakers' civility started out very good, then deteriorated before the midpoint. The moderator didn't do his job of keeping order, so too often it degenerated into someone interrupting & shouting another down, which prevented us from hearing what *either* was saying. It also often seemed that the 2 sides were debating different questions, or just arguing to each other, rather than for audience comprehension. Interesting issues were raised, but I'm not sure that either the Atheists (using the Christians' text as tools) or the Christians (using what purported to be science tools) did their respective sides justice. The Christian in the middle sounded scary (insane angry zealot) and only interested in promoting his books.

Mixed feelings about who won the debate. I'm sure there is no God like the God of the Bible!

The bogus pseudoscience of Hugo Ross was not directly refuted. This should probably have been anticipated. the point that it did not fit the format was correct but did not address the misinformation or the spurious claim that that is somehow in the Bible. He was "proof-texting".The astronomy may have taken a physical scientist or astronomer to refute, but the evolutionary and DNA arguments, are dealt with in the Dec issue of Scientific American. Clay Jones needed to be called out on his prosetylizing but was so horrific that pointing that out was hardly necessary. Appeals to authorities, popular with the Christians, are erased by the scientific method. This would have been a ready answer near the end, although the explanetion of deists was very good.
