When I was a child, my father's family was very involved in their church and demanded that we all follow suit. Most of it made no sense to me. When I was 13 my dad died and his family told me it was god's will. I had been taught that god was all good, all knowing, and all powerful. That totally didn't make sense to me. I stopped believing at that time. No more myths about the supernatural. I prefer to come to my own conclusions based on what makes sense. A few years back I came across a Buddha quote: "Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense."
I am an atheist.
I'm looking forward to getting together with like-minded skeptics.
