Save a life - (no really!)

I'm thinking of having a bone-marrow test as an event with dinner. Does this sound odd? Actually the test is a simple mouth swab (no pain!). In exchange the restaraunt would offer a 20-30% reduction in the price of the dinner. This is an opportunity to save a life - for real. How many times in one's life does one have a chance to save someone? I'm guess (unless you are a doctor) maybe never. Of course there is some discomfort (translation - pain) in actually donating bone marrow, but just think if YOU were the one who needed it and a you recieved the marrow from a stranger? Why can't that stranger be one of us? What do you think?
