I've heard about this astronomy opportunity happening for years, but have never manage to attend. Finally I'll be there. Will you meet me there?
From the web site:
What could be more fun than observing amazing objects through powerful telescopes by the seaside? Bring your friends or family to astronomy night and find out! There will be no moon tonight to interfere with our views of a variety of deep space stellar wonders. All evening we will explore the best double stars, star clusters and nebulae the fall constellations have to offer. Late in the evening we will take a close-up look at Jupiter with its interesting cloud bands and “Galilean” moons. If you have never seen deep space objects through a big telescope, this is your chance to be amazed. Seal Beach Astronomy Nights are co-hosted by our favorite local astronomy buff, Michael Beckage!
If you have a telescope, feel free to bring it to the star party. You don’t have to be an expert and it’s rewarding to share anything you know with someone else. The star parties are great for kids of all ages and best of all provide serious entertainment at an unbeatable price. (Free, that is!)
