Plugin Programmer Needed

The School of Library and Information Studies @ UW-Madison needs a plugin that can prepopulate custom taxonomies across blogs on a multisite installation for ePortfolios.

Currently, some arrays have been built that auto-populate custom taxonomies. Taxonomy terms are selected by students to indicate what class the ePortfolio artifact is for, if it has met certain departmental goals, etc. Using display: none; in some CSS, the terms are unable to be edited in the backend. This is all accomplished via a plugin that is network activated.

The problem is that when we need to edit the array, the term is duplicated and not just edited. This really gums up the UI for the students. Also, we really should be doing something different with user roles instead of display: none; to disable term editing – probably hooking up edits to a super admin account.

So, what we need is for someone to do one or two things: The first is to change the working plugin so that the array can be edited without causing duplication; the second, and less necessary of the two would be to use what’s available in core to create a UI to manage the taxonomy terms from the Network Admin screen. Adding the latter would pay more.

If you have interest in working on this project, please e-mail kmjones8 {at} wisc.edu and please link out to previous plugin work completed.
