About The Bakersfield LGBTQ Meetup Group

Since 2003, Bakersfield LGBTQ has been working to foster community unity via this Meetup group. We plan the flagship event, the annual Pride festival every year on Labor Day weekend, and we hold other social, political and informational events throughout the year!

Be sure to check out our message board. Under LGBTQ Services Offered, you'll find gay-friendly businesses, such as doctors, lawyers, electricians, etc, to meet your every day needs. Please send us new names of businesses that you know are gay-friendly!

In our PHOTOS section, you'll find hundreds of pictures from our many events over the years, including over 500 wedding photos from June 17, 2008. These will tell you a lot about what we stand for and the fun that we have!

If you would like to volunteer with us, please contact info@bakersfieldpride.org, or attend one of our monthly meetups or social events. We can always use enthusiastic & responsible people to make our events more special.

We welcome anyone who is supportive of LGBTQ rights and issues, and who wishes to support those rights with action. We do not discriminate against anyone based on race, gender, age, religion, ethnicity, political affiliation, gender identity or sexual orientation, although we do create safe spaces for different sub-groups for support. (The Women's Group is for those who self-identify as female, for instance; Men's Group for males, etc.) Please note that this is not a hookup group. We have members of all ages, and our activities are designed to be inclusive of everyone.
