I am curious how many of you would be interested in talking, discussing, and engaging one another on the topic of religion over coffee at Starbucks on a Sunday morning. I am asking because if there is enough interest I am willing to organize and facilitate a discussion on the topic from time to time. On my end, I have an interest in discussing religion because of its individual and cultural significance and relevancy. Personally, I don’t currently belong to any organized religion or local church but I do have an extensive religious background which includes 25 years of church attendance and academic studies in theology, philosophy, and church history.
I want to make it clear that our gathering is not a bible study/sermon, nor do I have a hidden agenda and do intend to facilitate a friendly discussion where everyone’s viewpoint and voice is heard and respected. The topics discussed will be open ended which means we can discuss whatever the group wants and everyone will be encouraged to share their personal experiences and thoughts but only if they want to. The primary purpose of these gatherings will be to allow people to express themselves and explore a very important topic in a safe environment. So, if you are interested please sign up and if there interest we will meet for the first time on Sunday morning September 7th, at Starbucks at Marketplace. I look forward to meeting you and hearing what others have to share about an important topic that is relevant to us all whether we are religious or not.
