These weekly sessions are open to all professional and amateur artists and specifically focused on the study of long poses held by professional contemporary or ballet dancers. All dancers have a very defined muscle structure and a great ability to hold very dynamic and interesting poses for a long time inspiring an idea of nobility and grace. Dancers also have a strong body awareness and interest to interact energetically with artists contributing to a wonderful creative flow.
The atmosphere is intimate and very relaxed. There is a spot light on the dancer to create a proper range of light, mid and dark tones on the figure. Draping fabrics and some props are used and a posing set created every time. Maximum number of artists taking part to each session is 9 so to allow concentration and energy focus.
Each session is centred on a long pose with few minutes breaks every 20 minutes for the model to stretch. There will be a long break of 10 minutes half way through the session with free tea and biscuits.
Please bring your own paper/easel/medium/boards. At this stage we only have plenty of chairs and few boards available. As our group grows we will be looking at providing easels.
