I am posting this event as a Meetup for two reasons.
If you are a teacher, I strong encourage you to attend. In addition to having a chance to meet with other Latin teachers, I have learned a great deal from getting to speak with teachers of other languages. In addition, I will be leading a session on Friday evening, which will be followed by a dinner, recognizing the MFLA Teacher of the Year.
Secondly, SALVI will be sponsoring a table in the exhibitor hall. This is a chance for us to promote our programs, and engage new teachres. Since I will be presenting, and have other conference responsibilities, I will need some people to come and sit at the table.
Those of you who have attended a SALVI program in the past, it is your own personal experience which is the most help to us. Your enthusiasm and willingness to answer questions are what will truly get people interested in our various offerings. I will take care of setting up the table, and providing publicity materials to distribute.
Expect people to come into the exhibitor hall in waves, between conference sessions and around lunch time, so feel free to bring homework or something to read.
When you RSVP to this, let us know if you plan to come as a conference attendee (you'll of course need to register and pay on the MFLA website: http://www.mflamd.org/), or if you'd be willing to staff the exhibitor table. It may be that we decide to meet for food and Latin conversation after the conference.
