Baltimore Astrological Society Pages

Who we are:

The Baltimore Astrological Society (BAS) is one of 35 member chapters of the National Council for Geocosmic Research (NCGR).

NCGR is a non-profit (501-C) organization incorporated in 1971 for the purpose of raising the standards of astrological education and research.

The term "geocosmic" is defined as "pertaining to the study of correspondences and cycles involving earthly phenomena and celestial events." NCGR offers a certification program for astrologers. It also sponsors a bi-annual international conference and publishes a professional journal and newsletter.
The mission of the Baltimore Astrological Society is to provide opportunities for our members, both professionals & novices, as well as other interested persons, to expand their knowledge and competency in the field of astrology. We also endeavor to cultivate in the general public a positive perspective on astrology and a greater appreciation for its benefits.

What we do and how we do it:
In order to fulfill our stated purpose we hold meetings and sponsor lectures, workshops and special events. We engage knowledgeable professionals who have made significant contributions to the field of astrology to speak at our events. We provide educational opportunities such as preparation for the NCGR certification examinations. We offer marketing support to our professional membership through our website and networking activities. Our community outreach programs disseminate information to the public in an effort to increase awareness about the benefits of astrology. We publish a monthly e-newsletter.

Where & when we do it:
We meet every third Friday of the month, from September through May, at the Ruscombe Mansion Community Health Center in Baltimore. Our monthly meetings consist of a ½ hour presentation on some significant current event corresponding to an astrological transit, or important news about the profession, followed by a 1 ½ hour lecture by a recognized professional. A calendar of events and directions to our meeting place are available on our website. http://www.basastrolo....
