Never before offered: Theatrical Floorwork Workshop! (Part of Theatricality Workshop-- respond to Nina for payment information)
Bring something extraordinary into your performance by making it more charismatic and dramatic.
Day 1: We will first learn each individual floorwork move. We will then put the moves together and work on adding theatrics and dramatic presentation to the piece. The story is about Legeia - one of the most famous sirens in Greek Mythology, loosley based on Homer's "The Odyssey." The sailors arrive on an unknown island and discover a cave where the sirens abide. Ligeia meakes her move on an unsuspecting sailor and dances her song of temptation to lure the sailor into her abode and ultimately to his death.
Day 2: We will perform the theatrical floorwork piece (for ourselves and whoever else that would like to see the finalized piece) at A Step Ahead Dance Center, 3615 E Joppa Rd Parkville, MD 21234 on Sunday, Sept. 8th - a much larger space with stage lighting.
Sunday's workshop will entail working on our choreography and dramatic skills to make the theatrical piece come alive. We will incorporate emotion, charismatic skills, and stage presence. The story is about Legeia - one of the most famous sirens in Greek mythology.
