In this class we break down and drill the basic components of belly dance movement with emphasis on good alignment and safe technique. We will learn how to isolate upper and lower body as well as basic arm and hand movements and simple footwork. Each class also includes a shimmy portion and a short dance combo to get the body moving! Students with no belly dance experience should start here — and you will probably want to take this class for a few sessions to make sure you are comfortable with the foundations before moving on (more advanced students also welcome – never hurts to polish!). No prerequisites.
