Egyptian Sun is hosting a Belly Dance Book Club open to all!
WHAT: This spring we'll be reading The Belly Dance Reader from the editors of GildedSerpent.com. You can purchase a copy locally from
), Gilded Serpent directly (
), online at
, and other places.
WHO: All friends of the dance! Even if you couldn't come to the previous ones!
WHEN: About once a month on a Saturday
WHERE: Offitt Building Room 160 (next to the room from previous meetings), Mattin Center, Johns Hopkins University Homewood Campus, corner of E. 33rd and N. Charles Streets, Baltimore, MD 21218, OR outside in the courtyard if it's nice. For directions click here:
-Although members of Egyptian Sun may serve as facilitators, participation by all is most encouraged! All are welcome to attend, from novice to professional. However, this is not a lecture session to feature a 2-hour monologue by one person in the community. The focus is group conversation to share ideas, questions, and more in a safe space. Please leave your egos and diva jackets at the door.
-These book club meetings are BYOB (Bring Your Own Brunch).
-The purpose of the Belly Dance Book Club is to foster a welcoming Baltimore belly dance community where we can listen to and learn from each other with open minds and open hearts.
SECTION TO READ BY 5/10:
-Section 4, "Biz" (Short reading that will surely prompt a great discussion! Pages[masked])
-Sections 1-3 if you haven't already (optional)
