Persian Dance (Interm-Adv) with Katayoun in Sterling, VA

From a foundation rooted in classical Persian dance technique, students explore the diverse flavors of social, folk and character dances. While designed for students with less than one year of dance experience, all levels of students will continue to improve their skills.

Taught in Katayoun's signature format of cultural dance vocabulary integrated with  universal dance concepts, students learn the secrets of style for specifically the Iranian modern, classical and folkloric dances.  With a focus on  core fluidity, students gain an understanding of the unique musicality of Iranian/Persian music and how to interpret the complexities and subtleties of the music with beautiful hand and arm movements, along with energetic steps, turns and dynamic floor patterns. Dance shoes required.  Intermediate-Advance, requires 1-year progressive Middle Eastern dance training.

Spring 2014 session: Modern classical Persian dance technique, choreography and improvisational skills.

Founded in 2009 by dancer and educator, Katayoun Hutson, Mosaique promotes cultural diversity and education through expert instruction and uplifting performances of authentic Middle Eastern dances. While we embrace a contemporary vision of artistic expression, the heart of our program is firmly rooted and infinitely inspired by traditional forms.

We strive to provide a welcoming environment where a diverse array of people can experience the joys and benefits of Middle Eastern dance together. We offer a fun, non-competitive and challenging program for kids and adults of all ages. We organize performance opportunities for our members, and our members participate in events organized by others throughout the Washington, DC area.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
