Advanced Beginner Choreography 6-7 PM
This level of classes is open to students who have completed at least one session of training with Latifa, or have a year of comparable study in bellydance with other teachers. If you can do a figure eight and a shimmy, you’re ready for this class. In the choreography class, we will learn a simple dance that you can perform for your family and friends.
Mixed Advanced Beginner/Intermediate Technique 7-8 PM
In this mixed-level class, we will work on refining technique, performance skills and theatricality, and expanding the students' knowledge of Middle Eastern history and culture as it relates to dance. Expect drilling and homework!
Intermediate Choreography 8-9 PM
If you have several years of dance experience, you may be ready for this invitation-only class. Intermediate classes focus on intricate and more complicated techniques, development of a refined individual performance style and extensive understanding of musicality. The Intermediate Choreography class will teach dances suitable for local haflas and shows, incorporating Ibrahim Farrah technique. Please feel free to contact Latifa for questions about qualifications to join this class at [masked].
Each 6-week class is $75, or take more than one and get $10 off each class. Includes student party at end of session.
“I have to tell you that I have been so impressed by the education and research you share with your students. I consider myself to be a proud nerd when it comes to history, anthropology and dance, and I have been so happy with the wealth of information you’re sharing with me. Seriously, there needs to be WAY more teachers like you in the area, because I’ve studied with a few and have been surprised how so many classes are about technique, but don’t address the culture of the music we’re dancing to.”
