Please tell us a little about your interest in belly dance. Are you new to belly dance, or a student, performer, or teacher?

I guess Zoe Jakes as a composer and unique mover. I've enjoyed watching Sadie on videos. I appreciate the grace of Reina of Meridian dance company The theatrics of Aepril Schiele intrigue me. I would like to put that much emotion into movement. I am fascinated by the Piper Method and would like to study precise movement. I can't help but want to learn how to do drum solos, the Taqseem. Yet Tribal movements' fluidity with layers are enchanting (um, what Tribe am I? I am still trying to figure this out) I like Egyptian bellydance, but am more drawn to "the scene of Flamenco inspired Gypsy cabaret.

Since I was introduced to dressing in black and going to a goth club a decade ago, dance became fun for me. I am new to belly dancing and I love the way it energizes and inspires me and other women. It's magickal. I study Arabic and Healing arts.
