Below is some important information to participate and a more detailed plan for our upcoming Annapolis meetup... in case you were wondering. :)
9:45am - Meet and check-in for the walking tour. We are meeting at the College Ave Bus Kiosk - corner of College Ave & Bladen St (near Church Circle & the Maryland State House). The Gott's Garage link below has walking directions from the garage to this meet up spot. The tour ends at Market Space - Market House Park...near Federal House, our lunch place.
See this link for parking garage options including location and prices. http://www.parkannapolis.com/map.shtml
Gott's Garage (#3) is the recommended parking place. Gott's is the closest garage to the meeting spot/walking tour start ($15/day). See this link for directions to Gott’s and walking directions to the meeting spot/start of the walking tour.
It’s an easy 13-minute walk back to the garage from the sailboat/dock.
Other parking options:
Closest to where we’ll end the day after our sailing cruise is a parking lot (Paul’s Parking) on the right-hand side of the Marriott that charges by the day. Space is very limited. And prices vary from $10-15 a day.
If you take a left onto Compromise Street (at the foot of St. Mary’s), on the left before Main Street is the Green Street Parking Lot. A school runs this lot, so it is open during non-school hours only.
10:00am - Walking Tour begins (will start on time with or without you). This 2 hour and 15 minute tour of historic downtown Annapolis goes from 10:00am to 12:15pm.
12:30pm - Lunch at Federal House Bar & Grille located in the historic district.Reservations have been made for our group.
2:00/2:30pm-4:30 (i.e., after lunch) - Free time begins! Our lunch spot is right in the middle of all the action near the city dock - so explore, check out the shops, do some general sightseeing, and just relax & enjoy the scenic waterfront/harbor views. If you are staying overnight, perhaps use some of this time to check into your room.
4:30-6:00pm - [Optional] Drinks/Eats at Pusser’s Caribbean Grille, the infamous, waterfront Annapolis restaurant & bar featuring freshly prepared Caribbean cuisine and classic Caribbean drinks. Optional activity for those interested in drinks and/or food before our sunset boat cruise. Reservations have been made for our group. Address: 80 Compromise St, Annapolis, MD.
6:15pm - Meet and check in for our sunset cruise - at the dock on the waterside of the Annapolis Marriott Waterfront Hotel.
Our sailboat (Schooner Woodwind) is docked at the Annapolis Marriott Waterfront Hotel - Address: 80 Compromise Street, Annapolis, MD 21401. Walk through the lobby of the hotel and through Pusser’s Landing restaurant and onto the dock, or walk around the right side of the hotel to the entrance to the dock where you’ll see a “Woodwind Sailing Cruises” sign. You will be looking for a little kiosk that is our “Ticket” Office.
6:30pm-8:30pm - Sunset sailing cruise. We'll enjoy a true sailing experience as we head out on a scenic 2-hour cruise aboard a 74-foot schooner (custom designed and built specifically for sailing on the Chesapeake Bay & a replica of the classic, fast wooden schooners that were built as “yachts” in the early part of the 20th century).

For our August meetup, we are headed to the super scenic, cool waterfront town of Annapolis, MD!
Hang for the day on Saturday (Aug 16) or spend the night and enjoy some additional bonus time on Sunday!
Full details are coming soon, but for now please SAVE THE DATE - the weekend of August 16th.
Basic plan... Saturday morning - we'll start off the day with a fun, yet informative walking tour downtown and around the harbor. Followed by lunch at a local restaurant. The afternoon brings a relaxing 2-hour sailing cruise where you can enjoy awesome views of the Annapolis skyline & the Chesapeake Bay.
Optionally, enjoy dinner/drinks in town that evening... and spend the night at a centrally located hotel walking to the waterfront, bars and restaurants. Sunday is flexible with whatever we feel like doing...perhaps start with a yummy brunch and then figure it out from there. :)
We only meet up once a month (its quality vs quantity here!) so make sure you Save the Date and join us for some summer fun when we take a quick road trip to the historic waterfront town of Annapolis!
This page will be updated soon with full details.
Note: This is a combined August monthly meetup for the Baltimore Gen X Travel Club and Washington DC Gen X Travel Club.
