I hope to learn more about this new approach to entrepreneurship, which I have been supporting throughout my career.
I have been working to help grow technology-based businesses in this region for 30 years. I have created and run programs to help them understand market demand, which I view as critical to success. Having worked with many university-spawned start-ups, I have seen many elegant solutions in search of a widely-recognized problem, and brilliant people unable to manage for success. I am engaged with my colleagues in governments, special-purpose nonprofits (including our national association), and higher education entities around the country who learn from each other.
I have no experience with Lean Startup as a branded approach, but very familiar with the elements that make up its methodology.
I am Marsha Schachtel and have been working in technology-based economic development in Maryland and the Baltimore region for 30 years. Currently I am focusing on best prospects for growth in the region, including bio/medical/health IT.
