Getting Started with MongoDB

First, Michael Behrens, a member of our group, will do a "getting started" talk for MongoDB. If you're looking to get your feet wet with Mongo, this is the presentation for you!

After Michael's Max Mathieu will share some learnings from his first 6 months with MongoDB, and how he scaled up without sharding (yet). Once you get started—thanks to Michael's talk—you might face some of these issues in your first months, and this talk might save you some hours or server costs!

Very nice intro presentation. The tips for saving space and enhancing performance was also very interesting.

Really enjoyed this intro presentation. It would be great if this could be expanded to a series of up to 5 talks.

Hey guys, still looking for an add-on presentation? How much time are you looking for?

Something like sharing our learnings after 6 months of use, which can be a good follow-on on Mike's talk.We faced some problematics (and found solutions to them) that may be interesting as a flash-forward for the audience. It ranges from data size optimizations, index tuning, handling of spinning disks... I don't have yet a killer title, and I am not sure sure it's worth a full-length presentation

Oops, I forgot the context: the main idea behind it is that we are a new startup with only money from our pockets right now. So trying to fit as many things on one server is a real deal, even if we log, process and provide in realtime, already half-billion events a month :)

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
