Summer Kick Off at BOP's Pear Orchard

  • BOP's Pear Orchard

Come on out to BOP's Pear Orchard for our Summer Kick Off! Our founder, Rabbi Nina Beth Cardin, will talk about where we have come from and where we are going. Everyone present will then receive a tree-shaped almond flour cookie as a symbol of our gratitude for your participation.

After the gathering, we will disperse into the orchard to tend to the pear trees. Mainly, we will be fruit thinning and mulching, but there are quite a variety of things to be done and teachers there to guide you in doing them.

The trees are looking like they might offer a good harvest this year, so working on the trees now is crucial. We hope to see you out there!

Bring: gloves, sun protection, water, sturdy footwear

And homemade music of some sort - guitars, fiddles, clarinets... to accompany us as we rock and rollick through the orchard.

Optional: wheelbarrow, shovel, pruning shears, picnic

The orchard is looking good! Many more pears than last year. Thanks to all who came to help us out. The trees still need lots more TLC so we are going back out sometime soon. Will announce the time and date on Meet Up!

Wyman Park, how about you? I can bike/take public transit to meet up too.

I'm near Wyman Park, too. Maybe the three of us can ride together.
