In this series we are working on deepening our understanding and practice of the niyamas, the second half of the foundational ground on which all yoga practices build as we continue to explore the systematic process of yoga meditation in both theory and practice. As always the heart of the meeting will be a guided meditation in the Himalayan tradition as taught by Sri Swami Rama.
This meeting will explore Ishvara Pranidhana. surrender of all practices and acts to the Source. In his classical commentary on Yoga Sutra II.45, Vyāsa states: "To one who has surrendered his total being to God, the accomplishment of samādhi [ensues] whereby . . . his faculty of wisdom fully knows reality as it is."
Although the meetings are intended to build on one another, each session can stand alone so plan to come to all or any that you can. There are chairs and some cushions available, but you might want to bring a cushion that you find comfortable for meditation. Space is limited so be sure to RSVP.
