My daily meditation practice uses a blend of techniques from the Himalayan Tradition as taught by Sri Swami Rama and various Kabbalistic meditation techniques. I start the day with Hebrew morning blessings and Sanskrit mantras for dawn followed by a japa practice. My actual meditation consists of a short Kabbalistic visualization based on the 23rd Psalm followed by a longer meditation from the Himalayan Tradition.
My goals for this group are to share what I have learned over the years of study and practice with other like minded seekers and to deepen my meditation practice through the kalyana-mitra (spiritual friendship) that develops when a group practices together over time.
I am a native of Baltimore, married with three grown sons. In 1975 I was initiated into the Himalayan Tradition by Sri Swami Rama and have studied, practiced and taught in the tradition since. I completed a 40-day silence retreat in India in 2010.
