GUNPOWDER KEG FAT ASS 50K- SEPTEMBER 14TH- 7am Registration, 8 am start
Please join the BRRC for our next installment of this great race in Northern Baltimore County's Gunpowder State Park, Bunker Hill section. We plan two loops of 15.5 miles on mostly single track trails, a smattering of fire road, and a small downhill stretch on an asphalt road. Many of the miles adjacent to the Gunpowder river with heron sightings and fly fisherman sightings almost guaranteed. Official timing for 50k and 25k runners, but options for a 10.5 mile loop and various other combinations possible. We will have at least 3 aid stations for each loop. maybe self service, but staffed by courteous volunteers if they again agree to show up.

Entry is free. We ask all to bring a gallon of water for the aid stations, and any snacks you might wish to share. We also try to collect a $5 "donation", all of which goes to the Park.

Race Directors are Kristin Bremer ([masked]), Brian Flowers, and Bart Rein. Contact Kristin with questions.

DIRECTIONS TO BUNKER HILL

From I-83 , take exit 27 and head east on Mt. Carmel Road. At traffic light, turn left onto York Road. Pass Hereford High School (17301 York Road, Parkton, MD on Google Maps) and turn left onto Bunker Hill Road. Continue on the famously rutted Bunker Hill Road to parking lot, located above the river. (Note- if you simply plug Bunker Hill Rd into your mapping software, you may end up on the wrong side of the river, as the Bunker Hill Bridge wiped out long ago)

Trail is okay but most of us encountered bees. Got stung by multiple bees 2x in one race :(
