BRRC Fall Middle Distance Training Group

Training throughout the summer months in Baltimore can be challenging. It can also be fun and a successful experience if you are training with the right group of friends. Join members of the Baltimore Road Runners Club to learn how to improve your endurance, increase your speed and gain confidence as you prepare for your upcoming races.

Overview: The Middle Distance Training Group is designed for individuals that have some running experience and are looking to participate in races ranging from 10 miles to the half marathon distance. The program will safely guide runners through an organized training schedule with the goal of improving their performance at the conclusion of the program. Under the leadership of experienced coaches, runners will be introduced to topics such as proper running techniques, pacing, developing a race strategy, speedwork, hydration, stretching, etc.

Workouts: A 16 week schedule will be provided to all participants. Schedules will be available for Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced Runners. Walkers are also welcome.

Location: The group will meet twice a week on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings.

Thursday evening - Speedwork on the track or campus driveway

Goucher College - 1021 Dulaney Valley Road, Towson



Location: The group will meet at the track near the Athletic Building.



Time: Warm-up goes from 6:30 to 7:00



All workouts start promptly at 7:00pm



Saturday morning - Distance runs at Loch Raven

Loch Raven Reservoir - Morgan Mill Road & Loch Raven Drive



Location: Meet at the Big Rock at the intersection above.



On street parking is available at this location



Time: All workouts start promptly at 7:00am (note new time)



Dates: July 3, 2014 to October 18, 2014 (16 Weeks)--July 3rd cancelled due to weather- will start July 10th

Baltimore Running Festival Half Marathon – October 18, 2014



Richmond Half Marathon - November 15, 2014



Annapolis Half Marathon - November 22, 2014

    How do we find out if there is a cancellation due to weather? There's a 90% chance of heavy rain at meetup time.
