The trip will be postponed for early next year and will not continue for Saturday, December 8, 2012.  The New York Metropolitan area is still in serious recovery and it is best to wait until the area is better restored.  A new shopping trip to Manhattan will be rescheduled for early next year.  Everyone will be notified of the new date of the trip.

We will end the year 2012 with our first shopping trip to New York City!  As a suggestion from one of our members, we will go Christmas shopping in the popular SoHo community, which is well known for its unique stores and wonderful boutiques.  Our destination also includes the Union Square Holiday Market, which features numerous Christmas gifts, items, and ideas sold by over 100 vendors.

The 18th Annual Union Square Holiday Market is a yearly holiday shopping event and outdoor market that features over 100 merchants.  You will find a variety of gift ideas such as glass housewares, handmade jewelry, clothing, Tibetan crafts, and other goods for Christmas gifts.  In addition, there are several retail stores in the Union Square area for additional shopping options.

This is the itinerary of the trip:

-When entering website, schedule bus trip for 9:45AM - 1:00PM (Depart to New York), and schedule the return trip for 8:30PM – 11:50PM (Return to Baltimore).  The date of the trip is Saturday, December 8, 2012.  Please be sure to enter information correctly, as Megabus does not refund tickets; however, they will allow you to reschedule trip 24 hours prior to the scheduled trip date.

Will you consider another pickup spot in Baltimore (closer to downtown) for the trip to Harlem?

    Hello everyone,
My heart goes out to all those affected by Sandy. Just checking out the Twitter feed from UrbanSpace, the organizers of the Union Station and Columbus Circle holiday markets, tweeted on Nov. 1 that the opening of the markets will go on as scheduled Dec. 16th. I do admire New Yorkers' resiliency. On one hand, they're working hard to restore normalcy and it is hectic. On the other hand, people and local businesses have been set back quite a bit from work and profiting. Especially, this time of year. If we do postpone, I think that it would be beneficial to the vendors, local businesses that we do re-schedule before the market closes on Dec. 24th. So these vendors/business who have already lost so much recoup some their business back. The market will have baskets accepting donations for Sandy victims.

It might be wise to postpone bc things are pretty hectic there right now. Its a shame cause I wanted to see their Christmas decorations

Again, I hope that one day you will consider doing a trip from Penn Station in Baltimore and taking the Bolt Bus...

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
