B.A.R.N. - Baltimore Animal Rights Network, a local grass roots group, participates mostly in pro veg campaigns through demos, leafleting and veg food sampling.
We also host monthly potlucks at member's houses, as well as other socials!
The purpose of this group is to promote compassion for animals in the greater Baltimore area and to build a strong local community of animal rights advocates.
Adopting a plant-based diet, is the best way to assure that no animals are being hurt needlessly by the meat and dairy industry, which routinely abuses, mutilates and violently slaughters billions of animals annually - which amounts to 98% of all abused animals. From consuming vast number of natural resources, such as water and fossil fuels, to deforestation, destruction of the top soil, and pollution of the water and air, animal agriculture is not sustainable and detrimental to the environment. For more information, please visit http://www.tryveg.com
Plant based diet is also best of our health. Many generations of people, some of which are elite athletes, as well as solid science, all point to the fact that it is not only possible to survive but humans thrive on a well-planned plant based diet, and that heart disease, diabetes, obesity and major cancers are a result of consuming animal products.
