This will be a non flash
session using tripods and natural light for the shoot. The
group will meet in DC at the Washington Monument side of 15th
street at Madison Ave. The meeting time will be at 8pm. This
will give us time for some one in the group to offer shooting
and set up tips before we proceed on our hike. We will start
the hike at the Washington Monument shooting from different
angles then proceed to the WWII Monument. From there we will
hike along the south side of the reflecting pool to the Korean
War Monument. From there we will then to the Lincoln Memorial.
The next stop will be the Vietnam Memorial. From there we will
hike along the north side of the reflecting pool to 17th
street. We will walk up 17th to the Elispe circling the White
House in a clock wise direction. After that we will see what
time it is and may try to walk over to the Jefferson Memorial.
The metro has a stop near the white house so if some want to go
on and others do not its a good place to divide up.

Rob I will look into this further also. I posted a reply on the message board saying I would like to do this again in October or November and will look into a permit if there is enough interest.

I think the next time we do DC with Tripods one of us should down load and have on person 50 -2 so we don't have to go thru the same BS we did last night. Or I can just put in for the permit and see how many photographers we can get to show up with Tripods and go stand in front of the Lincoln Memorial :-)

This will be a great outing. Sorry I'm going to miss it but I'll be up in the Virginia mountains, hopefully shooting some nice sunrise and sunsets. I'll come play with you all after Artomatic ends on July 5. Come on down after the shoot. www.artomatic.org Cheers, Jim

Me and my wife will be catching the metro at the greenbelt station around 5pm or so. We are going to first stop off in china town for a bite to eat before heading over to the meeting point. If anyone else is interested let me know and we can make arrangements to meet.

I propose we meet around 5pm at National Harbor in Oxon Hill, MD. it's nice place to grab a bite to eat and get some great shots before the DC Monuments Nite Hike. If anyone wants to carpool I have room for 3. Let me know what you think.

I would like to make a slight change to where we will meet. About 1/2 block up heading towards the Washington Monument is the visitor center and public rest rooms. We will meet in the front of there. It will make it a little easier for everyone to find each other.

I got there a little late and never found the group. But it was a great idea for a shoot and I got some pictures I am very happy with. Hope to meet up with the regular group for something in Baltimore.
    •  It was quite fun especially the encounters with the "Tripod Police"

I had a good time, I would never walk around DC in the pitch black with all me gear out, safety in numbers.
    •  Great fun and safety in a group! I want to go back to complete the hike.

I had a great time taking pictures and helping those of you who asked. I want to also thank all of those who were able to make it.
    •  This was very helpful for me; I know what I need for the next meet up and would like to thank all those experts who helped me out! Thanks! Jennifer

I would like to do more photowalks at night-- Pat
    •  I learned a lot about long exposure and how to break the law with your tripod.
    • Rick Smith (+1 guest)
This is worth doing again! I look forward to attending the photowalks.
    •  Good idea. Limiting time spent at each location would improve the experience.
