This took me forever to get out. Too much work and school I guess. Thanks for the opportunity to come out, I had a great time.

I sent the images to the models too, though I feel bad about taking so long. Thanks for the feedback though. I enjoyed shooting with you guys, and seeing the differences in style. I learned a lot, so thanks.

Thanks, Shane! You've got some very nice images, and it was good to work with you at the workshop. Please don't feel bad about your delay - that's no problem! I'm pleased that you have posted some photos and sent them to the models as well.

A great day of instruction, shooting and fellowship at the recent "Model Shootout", held on April 6th at La Banque De Fleuve! It was a really fun day and I got lots of glowing reviews from the participants. Many thanks to Models Bethany V Veronica, Haniece Fearon, Loney Loney, and Allison, as they did a fantastic job! There was lots of energy in the room. I thank our participants for attending; Daniel Coriolan, Kenny Epps, Casey Yowell, Wallace Sampson, Damani Ellington, Alton Knight, Jack Stuprich and more. A big thanks to Leana Stewart who did an excellent job on the model's hair and makeup. A special thanks to Kim Kimberly Barth, owner of the wonderful La Banque De Fleuve, who so graciously hosted the event. A big shout out to our sponsors in the photo industry - Photoflex, Lowepro, Lensbaby, and Nations Photo Lab for their generosity and support. And last but not least, to my wife, Terri, who keeps it all together!

    Hey Leo,

Can I walk in and purchase ticket at the event itself or do I need to buy it prior, if so do you have a weblink or something? I don't have flash and radio transmitter/transreceiver, do I need it?

    April 4, 2014

    • Leo H.

Yes, you can pay at the door. You will not need a flash radio trigger. You can use my collection of MicroSync Digital transmitters/receivers that will be on-hand.

    Leo,
I would like t attend but I have a commitment at church on Sunday morning. The earliest I would be able to get to the session is ~1200. Is this session set up such that it would be worthwhile to arrive at that time or do I need to be there from the beginning?

Leo, I think I need to pass this time. I would really hate to miss any part of the lecture even with having taken the portrait class. Hopefully there will be more opportunities now that the weather seems to be taking a turn for the better.

I understand Len. And yes, there will be more ops coming up! Hopefully, I'll see you in a future event.

    Leo:
Will it be okay to give you a certified check made out to you when I see you at the event?

This is going to be an exciting workshop. There will be instruction and direction by me on how to shoot with models. You will have several professional live models to work with, both in an studio environment and outside location. The La Banque facility is gorgeous in itself, and it will provide plenty of shooting opportunities. There will also be some giveaways from Lowepro, Nations Photo Lab and more!
