I’d like to encourage all members to set up and host Meetups whenever the mood strikes you, even on short notice. Thank you to those who have already started doing so!
I have noticed some comments that it can be difficult to figure out where the group is and who is participating. I have experienced the same issue on some of the Meetups I’ve attended.
I think there are a few things we can do to help this.
First… I have ordered a bunch of buttons.
They should be here in a couple of weeks. They are free with my compliments for anyone who wants one. This should make it easier to spot other people in the group.
If you want a button send me an SASE with two stamps on it. Send me an email and I’ll provide my mailing address. If you are hosting an event, I can also send you a few to hand out. Let me know…
It is also a good idea for event hosts to print out a sign and place it somewhere visible. If you’re out and about, perhaps you can hang something from your tripod. It doesn’t need to be anything large or fancy – just something to clue people in where you are. Meetup has some pretty nice signs that you can use or just make up your own.
There is a “Meetup store” where you can get t-shirts, caps etc. The more people hanging out in Meetup gear the easier to recognize the group. If there is any interest in a group purchase of some type of apparel perhaps I can help arrange a more cost-effective option. Let me know if you would be interested in participating.
Independently Independent Virtual Meetup.
I expanded this to the entire month of July. Take your best shots and share them with us at http://Facebook.com/WellFramed and at our group page on meetup.
Shootout at the Towson Fireworks Show… http://www.meetup.com/BaltimorePhotography/events/125443252/
There doesn’t seem to be any interest in this. I know the holiday is a tough time. Feel free to plan at the last minute and to bring family and friends. I’ll be there one way or the other. Look for the 6’4” guy in a White Polo with orange www.Conga.tv graphics on it. That’s actually a not-so-subtle plug for one of my passions. If you like Latin music you might enjoy taking a look. You can also find us at http://facebook.com/Conga.tv.
Concord Point Lighthouse at Sunrise ..
Thank you Marcus for setting this up... I’m sure you all know that that those early morning (and late day) shots are some of the very nicest of all. I’m a lighthouse fan too. I have a conflict and may not be able to attend this one, but I’m trying to work it out.
Thank you for all the support at http://facbook.com/WellFramed - Don’t forget to stop by and leave some likes, comments, and photos!
Shoot first… Ask questions later.
