Back to Basics

*Please note the change in location for 2014 BRUG Meetings*

Starting a new project in Revit can often be tricky, since it is not a task frequently done by users. We will take a look at project setup, linking files, and shared coordinates.

I would like to see more Revit Basics especially as they relate to the new versions 2013/2014; I have only been working in 2012. The time spent last evening on the columns/bubbles and their properties 2D & 3D went too quickly. I am not familiar with these commands and properites. As a MEP user it would be helpful to review set-up best practices from our perspective, after the architect has sent their model out to begin design with others.
Last night was a good start! Thanks.

Yes, we planned on spending more time on the basics last night. We will work it in with another upcoming meeting and I will repeat what we started last night.

I now understand shared coordinates and picked up some tips I was having trouble with in Navisworks.

I won't be able to make it tonight - somehow deadlines creep up the same days at these meetings. Hope to see you next month!

best location for Parking? across the street?

    January 8, 2014

    • Laura K.

The most convenient location is the Harbor Park garage at the corner of Lombard and Marketplace. It is connected to our building by a sky bridge at level 7 of the garage. There is also a garage across the street (Pier V Parking). There is also street parking once you cross over President Street in Little Italy. Just be aware of the time limits since it is a residential area – it is 2 hours or 3 hours depending on where you park.

I definitely expect to be there before 6:00pm, barring traffic of course.

Please let me know if you will be arriving to the meeting after 6:00, so that I can make proper arrangements for you to enter our suite. Thanks!
