Have you written search apps ever? Using Apache Lucene/Solr?

I have used lucene in an IDE we used to develop called Flash Builder (used to build applications using Flex SDK). Lucene used to help perform search in source and enable a lot of features like navigate to definition etc that we are all used to seeing in our IDEs like Eclipse and IntelliJ

Are you an Apache Solr/Lucene contributor/committer?

Not yet.

Do you want to do this to support your day job or fun?

Both. I am going to be using Solr for the first time for building search in a financial services product. And the more I learn about Lucene and as I go introduced ot Solr, my interest in these have only grown.
