You guys might say you've been to Nandi on your bicycle a million times; what's new with this!?
What's new is, we're going to cycle to Nandi into the darkness starting Saturday night, watch the sun rise on Sunday morning and get back to Bangalore well before noon! I bet you haven't done something this crazy for a long time.

Central Meeting Point: Cubbon Park - Near Corporation Circle
Checkpoints and pit stops ->
00:00hrs- Sunday morning - Ride starts from Gopalan Innovation Mall, Bannerghatta main road
00:30am - We meet our fellow cyclists from all over Bangalore at Cubbon Park (Near Corporation Circle Entrance)
01:30am - Pitstop at Hebbal circle, opposite Esteem mall
02:30am - Pitstop at Kogilu Cross
03:00am - Passby Air force Station, Yelahanka
04:00am - Reach Kempegowda international tollgate
05:30am - Reach Nandi Base camp and start the uphill climb
07:00am - Watch the sunrise / spend some time on the hill
07:30am - Start the ride back to Bangalore
Fellow cyclists, some facts and figures:
1. Climate: Temp would be 28-30 degrees by 12PM
2. Total distance (app 150 kms): Average kms cyclist would cover /hr = 14 to 16 kms/hr depending on slowest rider
3. Total ride time 12 - 14 hrs (Just ride 6 hrs to and 6 hrs to come back)
4. Break time: Every 15kms, 5 min pit stop, gather everyone and move
5. Stuff to carry 1000 ml water (min), Energy bars, Biscuits. You can also mix Glucon D or Electrol or Tang with water
6. Carry spare tube (if possible), wear full sleeves to prevent skin burn-outs, bananas, oranges are good
Please carry cash for food and water. As this is an open event.
What to bring: - Bike & Accessories - A working/Serviced cycle, (Check Air pressure) - helmet - For Early Morning/night ride - Powerful front light & Back LED blinkers - Spare tubes, - puncture kits and minimal tools help in case you or your friends end up with a flat. - Snack/Drink - water - Sports drink, ORS or Glucose (Besides Water) - Snacks - chocolates, Banana Etc. - Clothing - Bright reflective Clothing - Light Clothing preferably shorts & t-shirt - Gloves help. - Additional Money for Food, Travel back and any other Eventualities.
Safety:- - it’s not a Race, it’s a Ride - Follow Traffic Rules - Ride with the Group - Maintain Sufficient distance between cycles. - Be Alert on the Road and watch your back - Motorists have the right of way, - If you have not been keeping well, don’t ride. - It is a self-supported event. While other cyclists generally stop to help, be prepared to take care of yourself and your bike
General Instructions: - - Do a Warm up before your ride. - Hydrate yourself with ORS or glucose at regular intervals. Plain water is not always good. - Riding in Traffic or Highways has a risk of accidents. Your Safety is in your hands. - Reach out to Fellow rider who is in need of help.
