Is anyone interested in joining a bunch of explorers and photographers to Mahakumbha Mela this February along with Khajuraho Dance Festival. We are a few passionate Indians who are into exploring and promoting art, festivals, culture and heritage of India.
Once every 12 years, tens of millions of pilgrims stream to the small northern city of Allahabad from across India for the Maha Kumbh Mela, at the point where the Ganges and Yamuna rivers meet with a third, mythical river Saraswati. It is believed that over the next two months as many as 100 million people (including a lakh of foreign visitors) will pass through the temporary city that covers an area larger than Athens on a wide sandy river bank. That would make it larger even than previous festivals.
This is once in a lifetime opportunity to visit the Mahakumbha Mela this February! Mahakumbha is not just the confluence of 3 legendry rivers, but also the confluence of the 3 basic traits of Tradition, Religion and Folklore. It like living an EPIC, really!
Where the Sadhus descend once in a year from Himalayas, thousands of diyas and aarti - light the river banks and the godman chanting mantras makes this experience larger than life for you. This haven for the Religious souls, is equally a haven for Artists, Photographers & explorers. The Vibrancy and Intensity of sounds & colors and will simply blow you away!
