CANCELLED BY DISTRIBUTOR: "Silver Linings Playbook"

  • Dec 28, 2012 · 7:00 PM

This movie's showing date has been cancelled by the distributor.  No new showing date has been confirmed.

Life doesn't always go according to plan. Pat Solatano (Bradley Cooper) has lost everything -- his house, his job, and his wife. He now finds himself living back with his mother (Jacki Weaver) and father (Robert DeNiro) after spending eight months is a state mental institution on a plea bargain. Pat is determined to rebuild his life, remain positive and reunite with his wife, despite the challenging circumstances of their separation. All Pat's parents want is for him to get back on his feet-and to share their family's obsession with the Philadelphia Eagles football team. When Pat meets Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence), a mysterious girl with problems of her own, things get complicated. Tiffany offers to help Pat reconnect with his wife, but only if he'll do something very important for her in return. As their deal plays out, an unexpected bond begins to form between them, and silver linings appear in both of their lives.

Many moviegoers are most comfortable with cookie-cutter films that give them what they expect. I didn’t know what to anticipate from Silver Linings Playbook, but I couldn’t have foreseen such an ambitious, emotionally powerful story. I have a feeling it will stay with me for some time to come.

- Leonard Maltin, famous movie critic

We're fully aware of the plot conventions at work here ... but with these actors, this velocity and the oblique economy of the dialogue, we realize we don't often see it done this well. "Silver Linings Playbook" is so good, it could almost be a terrific old classic.

- Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times

Art, Do we have an alternative choice so to keep the event? How about Deadfall or Wreck It Ralph?

Intira, sorry, I will not be scheduling an alternate movie for tonight primarily because of the very short notice. We will probably have another movie on Friday of next week.
