It’s about time for us to have our monthly networking meeting where we greet new members in the group, chat, socialize and share volunteer experiences and stories with the others and have fun. After long weeks of break and Songkran celebration, let’s sit back and relax in a warm and cozy afternoon and enjoy a coffee with a guest organization that will join us in this special day, The Samaritans of Thailand.
Samaritans is a non-denominational, non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to reduce the incidence of suicide by befriending individuals in crisis and educating the community about effective prevention strategies.
John McCormick has been a listening volunteer for the Samaritans in UK for over 10 years. He also worked with the National Health Service as a Director of Organisational Development and Human Resources, having a wide-range of experiences from selecting and mentoring volunteers and he also volunteered with the Citizen’s Advise in the Glasgow Call Centre.
I’m inviting anyone to come in their free time to spend few hours getting to know the organization and learn how we, volunteers and members of this meetup group can possibly help. We can share the website link and spread the word to our family and friends. More likely, be involved to become a listening volunteer, and if you do…
“Can you listen without prejudice?”
Looking forward to see you!!
