The Power of Technology and Story to Change Things - May Lunch and Learn

People have been connecting with one another and passing on values and ideas through stories for thousands of years. Raw data and information can be helpful, but stories transfer something deeper, something more emotional, and something that we can relate to. Couple the power of stories with an unprecedented ability to share those stories, and now you’re talking about sparking widespread change. In this presentation we’ll hear about how a team of storytellers leveraged their craft along with some powerful communication tools to change hundreds (if not thousands) of lives. How can you and your organization leverage these two powerful tools, experience large-scale growth and reach new advocates/customers?

Dan King is a professional blogger and social media consultant. He’s the founder and president of the upstart Fistbump Media, LLC where he helps a large variety of clients implement strong social media strategies. He’s helped organizations like TheHighCalling.org grow their Facebook following from 250 fans to a thriving and engaged community of over 67,000. He also helps other bloggers and writers get their stories out and achieve their publishing goals.

This was a great way to hear about how the art of storytelling could make something like a business come to life and get people excited. Dan King did a great job. I would see him speak again!

David presented his topic well. It was kind of cool to follow him along with our individual smart digital devices, too.

Speaker gets an A+ for enthusiasm. Presentation could have had more tech content. Could have been more concrete about structuring Blog content. Event was very well attended, many friendly people!
