Meetup Description: "Combining Dynamically and Statically Typed Languages for Fun and Profit"

by Gavin Stark, VP of Real Digital Media and Co-Organizer of the local Ruby on Rails meet-up group

In this talk Gavin will describe his company's usage of Ruby, Ruby on Rails and Java for product development. Specifically, Gavin will discuss the design, implementation and software development decisions for where each is utilized including the "pros and cons." Finally, Gavin will demonstrate (with code samples) how RDM currently approachs using both Ruby and Java together for testing and simulation. Gavin will wrap up discussing the future of the JRuby project that allows us to merge the Java and Ruby environments.
