Hello Dear Photographers
Since approximately half a decade, the whole city of Girona covers itself in flowers, and celebrates an exhibition called “Temps de Flors”. This floral exhibition converts different monuments, courtyards and urban locations into unique ornamental gardens. During the festival many public buildings and private gardens are decorated with floral motifs, and spaces to which the public are not normally invited within the old quarter of the city open their doors to visitors.
It started as a small flower show and competition and has grown into a festival of floral decorations of all shapes and sizes. Huge numbers of visitors are drawn to the Old City to wander and enjoy the decorations embellishing the ancient stones and historic buildings and enjoy the charm and originality of the artistry.
Before all the details part (maybe we repeat ourselves but is very important for us to mention this) we would like to say a huge THANK YOU and give all the credits for preparation of this meetup to Jens Mittag.
Thanks to people like you who want to share their passion, spend their time and energy this photography group constantly grows and turned to a very special photo community.
We are always open for new meetup proposals and initiatives from other group members and we strongly encourage people to host the meetups and share their knowledge with others as ¨sharing¨ is the main idea behind this group.
What we will be doing?
We will enjoy a sunny day in Girona together (the weather forecast estimates 24° with partial clouds only), explore the old town, watch the floral exhibitions and apply the lessons learned in previous meetups. For instance we will try to capture the atmosphere of the exhibition as if we would be photo journalists, practice our macro photography skills, and improve our street photography skills.
