Hello Dear Photographers
This weekend we will do some night photography. We have the best possible time to do that - Sat Joan´s night !!! Fire, smoke and people doing crazy stuff. Can we ask for more to get good occasions for photo?
Nit de Sant Joan is the traditional midsummer party in Spain is the celebration in honour of San Juan (St. John the Baptist) and takes place in the evening of June 23. Bonfires are lit and a set of firework displays usually take place. On the Mediterranean coast, especially in Catalonia and València, special foods such as Coca de Sant Joan are also served on this occasion. Bonfires are lit in the streets or on the sand of the beaches, the rituals are jumping over the fire, touch the water that is blessed in the night or asking for some wishes.
Thx Wikipedia, you are always so helpful:)
…and please don´t get burned
What we will be doing?
It´s very hard to plan exactly where we will go to photograph as there is very few information about the events happenig taking place that night.
Little info for Barceloneta:
21:15: Home Tabacorrefoc (civic center)
22:00 pm: Speech and ignition infernal sun and moon Devils Barceloneta and guests (Pl. Barceloneta)
00:00 to 3:00 pm: Great concert Revetlla
Another option is to head the Barceloneta beach and photograph the shore with bonfires during the blue hour (sunset at 21:29) and after go to Placa Barceloneta and Paseo de Juan de Borbon.
We will follow our photographers instinct once we meet:)
