July 4th Marathon (or less)

A fun run round a 6.55 mile loop, giving lots of distance options, with a great bunch of fun people.  The course would be challenging barefoot but is quite possible in VFF or similar.

A $10 donation is suggested at registration.  You'll get much more than that back in enjoyment!

Yes, MILLIONS of worms, all squishy under my feet!

Fun local race. Reminds me of the races in Ohio. Did 2 loops in vibrams, probably could have gone 1 more but didn't wanted to push it. Definitely try to make the next one.

Great cross country course and beautiful for barefoot running. Chris, Rob and I did the route completely shoeless yesterday and had a great time. Chris went on to do a second loop!!! I live near VC and hope to run there more with the idea of making it a regular meetup venue eventually. : )

Only ran 3 of the 4 loops, as it was hot and the course punished my legs more than expected. GREAT low-key, local event. Water, oranges, and bananas at two aid stations on the course were a welcome sight! Thanks to the organizers and thanks to Westchester Road Runners for manning the on-course aid station in the woods.

A great trail course but I stepped on a piece of metal about mile 5 after jumping off a rock. It cut a slash through my shoe and sock. Luckily only a small cut on my foot but a lot of pain completing the run making it home. I hope it doesn’t turn out to be much :) This was my first race and first 1/2 marathon and i can't wait to do another one ASAP!
