I'm now 54, live near Central Park's West Side, and have been running most of the park's perimeter barefoot, mostly on the road. I'm looking forward to another fall of barefooting, and I'll see how much cold my bare skin can take this winter.
Baring soles together is good for the soul.
Hey Ira, Sorry to hear the sad news. I hope everything is going as well as possible. Let me know if you need anything.
I'm looking to get out running this weekend and I'll send you an email if I do. Cheers!
Hi Ira, thanks for the welcome. I look forward to some barefoot runs, I haven't done that much lately. Running in Manhattan is tricky for me in this weather, because I live in Brooklyn and I would need somewhere to keep my jacket, etc, while I'm running. I'll try to figure something out. I hope to join you on some barefoot runs before too long.
I'll be in NYC this coming week and may try to join you on your Tuesday morning run--depending on what time I get back into the city on Monday night (I'm currently slated to arrive between 11 and midnight). I'm sure that I'm not as hardy, but the run sounds fun. I'll be coming from Midtown (Grand Central area), so I will have run a couple of miles already.
Hey Ira, just got home and looked at the MTA schedule and figured out my mistake. Would've been waiting about another hour, since (I don't usually take the B train) the B actually stops running at night and the first train through 34th/Herald Sq. is at 6:35am! I'll take the 2 to Lincoln Sq next week and walk over. According to the schedule, I'll be there in plenty of time. What a crappy start to my day, was really looking forward to this. :-\
