Hey folks,

I'm forwarding this email from Kris Wood, one of the early members of Barefoot Runners NYC.  Plus a video from McDougall.  Let's support him in his barefoot marathon for a good cause!

John

-----------

Hello all,

My name is Kristopher Wood, and this year I am going to be running barefoot in the New York Marathon with the goal of raising $3,500 for UNICEF.

Christopher McDougall was kind enough to help me reach my goal by recording this video for me.  And everyone who donates will be entered into a raffle to win an autographed copy of Born to Run by Christopher McDougall.

A bit about UNICEF.  Every day, 22,000 children around the globe die from preventable causes, simply because they don’t have access to clean water, immunizations, proper nutrition or protection during emergencies. UNICEF, and I, believe that number should be zero. I'm nearly a third of the way there, but I need your help.  If I can get 200 people to give just $10 each, then I will have completed my goal.

What does $3,500 buy?

- 7 water pumps, which will help keep 7 different communities safe from deadly waterborne illnesses.
- 35 HIV test kits, allowing 3,500 mothers to take the first step to preventing the spread of mother-to-child HIV/AIDS.
- 14 school-in-a-box kits, giving 560 children temporary schooling after an emergency situation.

So please, help out if you can.  Just go to my fundraising website at:

Just to reiterate: I get no money. Kids in need do. You may win a book.

Thanks everyone,

Kris
