New Telescope Workshop

Get a new Telescope for Christmas, or perhaps you have had a telescope for some time but are not quite sure how to operate it?

Bring your scope down to the Clarence T. Jones Observatory and members of the BAS will help you out! We will show you how to set the scope up properly and show you how you can get the most from your instrument. Weather permitting, we will even help you find some astronomical objects with your very own scope.

This event is free and everyone is welcome! Even if you don't have a telescope you are welcome stop by and check out the observatory!

Please RSVP below, and in the notes area tell us as much as you can about you scope (brand and model number). Then come on down and let BAS help you get off to the best possible start with your new scope!

Looking forward to the Workshop today! Don't let the weather deter you - we'll be inside where it is warm and dry. Who knows - the clouds may part this evening!

Please make sure you use the "back entrance" to the observatory behind Brainerd United Methodist Church. Don't use the Tuxedo Ave entrance unless you want to schlep your scope up a trail through the forest!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
